The Spelling Bee is an annual contest organized by Horizon International Schools since 2008. The purpose of this contest is to help students improve their spelling, increase their vocabulary, learn concepts, and develop correct English usage that will help them throughout their lives. We were excited to host this inter-school spelling bee competition to give students an opportunity to increase their word power.
This year on December 12, 2015 Horizon International Schools hosted its 8th annual Spelling Bee successfully for both junior and high school students from across Yangon and Mandalay. Around 1000 students participated from several government schools and other international schools.
While more than a few students seemed, at times, nervous but fun was had by all. It was and will continue to be a great experience for our youths to proudly participate in front of a crowd.
We would like to congratulate each and every student who participated and a special mention to those who reached the top 20 in their respective section. We would also like to congratulate the students who stood as Best of top 20 from local schools.
